Ga-Netchu! The Manga Anime SyndromeĀ andĀ Manga!Ā Gallery Exhibition Book Group of 4 (Deutsches Filminstitut/Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, c. 2008/2011).Ā Remarkably rare and out of print, featured in this lot is a collection of literature created for anime-themed gallery exhibitions at the Deutsches Filminstitut. With contributions from international scientists and experts such as Jaqueline Berndt, Thomas Lamarre, Doris Croissant or Jasper Sharp as well as manga and anime artists, the book closes the gap in interdisciplinary documentation of contemporary Japanese popular culture. In addition, this 280-page book contains approximately 85 works of art on offer in this auction! Also included in this lot is the German edition of this book with a wrap-around cover containing a 16-page pamphlet for a 2011 show calledĀ Anime! High Art - Pop Culture.Ā If all this wasn't enough, there is an additional book for another gallery published by the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, printed in Danish and titledĀ Manga!Ā At 104 pages, it contains many of the same images seen inĀ Ga-Netchu!Ā and more! The pamphlet shows a small fold in the lower right corner, but otherwise each book shows little to no handling wear. The condition is Very Good to Fine.
